What Plei is

Plei is a clean, minimalist media player for iOS. You bring your own M3U playlists or stream URLs and Plei plays them. The app ships empty: it includes no channels, movies, or preloaded sources.

Frequently asked questions

How do I import a playlist?

On the import screen, choose a mode:

• M3U URL: paste the address of your .m3u/.m3u8 list.
• File: pick a .m3u file stored on your device.
• Direct URL: add the address of a single stream with a name.

My provider gave me a username and password, not a URL. How do I add it?

Some providers don't hand you a .m3u URL directly, but a set of credentials instead (a server address, a username and a password). In that case you can build your own list URL by combining them like this:

http://server:port/get.php?username=YOUR_USERNAME&password=YOUR_PASSWORD&type=m3u_plus

Replace server:port, YOUR_USERNAME and YOUR_PASSWORD with the details your provider gave you, then paste the resulting URL into the M3U URL mode. Plei will treat it like any other playlist. If you're unsure about your credentials, check with your provider.

Why is the app empty after installing?

That's expected. Plei ships with no content of its own; you must first import your playlist or add a URL. From there you'll see your items organized, with categories based on your own list's data.

Which formats are supported?

Plei uses the VLC engine, so it plays virtually any format and codec: HLS, MPEG-TS, MP4, MKV, AVI and many more. If a particular stream won't play, it's usually because the source is offline or its address has changed.

How do I watch it on a TV?

You can send Plei to an Apple TV (or an AirPlay-compatible smart TV) using iOS screen mirroring:

• Start playback in Plei.
• Open the iOS Control Center.
• Tap Screen Mirroring and pick your Apple TV.

Mirroring works with anything you play. Chromecast support is not available yet.

What does Plei Premium include?

Premium is a one-time purchase (not a subscription) and unlocks:

• Unlimited playlists
• Extended history (up to 50 items)
• Picture in Picture
• Adjustable playback speed (up to 2×)
• Sleep timer

It includes a 7-day free trial so you can try it before deciding.

I switched iPhone or reinstalled the app. How do I get Premium back?

Go to Settings → Plei Premium inside the app and tap "Restore Purchases". Your purchase is restored with the same Apple ID you bought it with, at no extra cost.

Does Plei collect my data?

No. Your playlists and favorites live only on your device. We show no ads and collect no usage analytics. More details in the Privacy Policy.

Does Plei provide channels or content?
